As Senior Vice President of Efficacy and Research in the Office of the Chief Education Advisor at Pearson, Amar leads the Global Efficacy & Research team, which aim to embed impact evaluation and research deeply into the Pearson product development lifecycle, as well as advance their ambitious thought leadership agenda. Amar partners closely with Kate Edwards, SVP Efficacy and Research in Global Product to drive the global research agenda at Pearson. Amar joined Pearson in 2013 where he initially served as VP, Office of the Chief Education Advisor.
Prior to Pearson, Amar served as an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Co. serving clients in education, healthcare and technology. His projects focused on helping clients grow, increase their impact, and improve operational effectiveness. Prior to McKinsey, as a Portfolio Manager at Eli Lilly & Co., helping scientists better use genetics data to accelerate drug discovery. Earlier in his career Amar served as a teacher and principal at a rural school in Bangalore, India. Amar holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelors in Computer Science from Purdue University.
