Miguel Angel Montoya Bayardo

Director Hub Cantabria Research Lab Instituto del Futuro de la Educación, Tecnológico de Monterrey

    Dr. Miguel A. Montoya is the director of IFE-Europe at the Institute for the Future of Education at Tecnológico de Monterrey and has been a professor and researcher at Tecnológico de Monterrey since 1996. He has a PhD from Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (Cum Laude, 2007). He teaches at the professional, postgraduate and executive education levels at the Institution, and has received several awards from students and alumni for his  quality in teaching.

    He is a regular member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences and, since 2009 of the National System of Researchers (SNI, for its initials in Spanish) of the National Council of Science and Technology of Mexico (Conacyt, for its initials in Spanish). He has published more than fifty research papers in books and refereed and indexed academic journals (Scopus, WoS and Conacyt) on topics such as cities, economics and international business. He is the editor of four books with Cambridge University Press (UK), Springer Nature (UK) and Fudan Development Institute Press (P.R. China). He serves on the editorial board of European and Latin American journals and has presented research papers at international conferences.

    As a visiting professor, he has taught at the University of South Carolina (Columbia, USA), MBS (Montpellier, France), BSM (Bordeaux, France), EPFL (Lausanne, Switzerland), ESCP Business School (Madrid, Spain), ESAN (Lima, Peru), USFQ (Quito, Ecuador) and at the Instituto Ortega y Gasset (Madrid, Spain). He has participated in research tenures at Northeastern University (Boston, U.S.A.) and CEIBS (Shanghai, P.R. China).
