Edna Jaime Treviño

Decana de la Escuela de Ciencias Sociales y Gobierno, Tecnológico de Monterrey

    Edna Jaime Treviño is a political scientist graduated from ITAM, with over 30 years of experience advocating for transformations in the country’s public policies from organized civil society.

    She is the founder and former CEO of México Evalúa, a think tank that analyzes, evaluates, and proposes solutions to Mexico’s most pressing issues. She has also worked as a researcher and director at the Center for Research and Development (CIDAC, for its initials in Spanish), a pioneering think tank that significantly influenced debates and discussions leading to decisions that changed the structure of the Mexican economy and politics.

    Edna is the Vice President of the Paris Peace Forum, a global fellow of the Wilson Center in Washington D.C., and an associate of the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations (COMEXI, for its initials in Spanish). Additionally, she is a member of the Transparency Commission of the Nuevo León Council for Strategic Planning.

    She was awarded the Professional Merit Prize by ITAM in 2011. In 2019, she received the Medal of the Upper House of France, an annual recognition for outstanding leadership in strengthening the relationship between France and Latin America. In 2020, she was honored by the French Republic with the National Order of the Legion of Honor.

    Edna contributes to the newspaper El Financiero and the radio program Leonardo Curzio en Fórmula. She is co-author of El acertijo de la legitimidad (The Riddle of Legitimacy) and Rendición de cuentas y combate a la corrupción: retos y desafíos (Accountability and Fight Against Corruption: Challenges and Obstacles) and has also collaborated on numerous collective works.

    Since August 2023, she has been part of Tecnológico de Monterrey as the National Dean of the School of Social Sciences and Government.
