Professor of Educational Technology and Leadership at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). PhD in pedagogy (1998) from Universidad Ramon Llull at Barcelona and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) (2002) from ESADE Business School. Research professor in educational technology, educational organization, leadership, and quality in education at the Psychology and Educational Sciences School of the UOC. Director of the postgraduate course in Leadership and Management of Educational Centers, at the UOC.
He has led and participated in research projects related with the educational use of the ICTs. He has published different books, among which are: La organización ética de la escuela y la transmisión de valores (1999), Aprender en la virtualidad (2000); La Universidad en Red (2008) and Uso transformador de las tecnologías digitales en educación (2020). He has published several scientific articles in international impactful magazines (ORCID). He founded and directed the UNESCO e-Learning subject at UOC between 2002-2009. He is co-director and founder of the International Journal of Educational Technology in Higher Education (ETHE), a peer-reviewed scientific journal regarding e-Learning, Q1 in ISI and in Scopus. He is vice president of research of EDEN (European Distance and E-learning Network), and of the “University of the Future Network”, an international network of researchers on the future of higher education, as well as coordinator for REDUNETE, a network of Colombian universities for the use of technology in education.
